Students rarely get enough interview practice before placements. This project creates an AI interviewer that is available any time and gives specific, actionable feedback.
The student chooses a role (for example Java developer or data analyst) and level, and can upload a résumé. The interviewer generates relevant technical and HR questions, including follow-ups based on previous answers. The student answers by speaking; the audio is transcribed with Whisper, a speech-recognition model.
Each answer is scored for relevance and completeness against key points, structure (for example the STAR method for behavioural questions), speaking pace, filler words such as "um" and "like", and confidence. At the end the student receives a report with scores per question, a model answer, improvement tips and progress compared with earlier sessions. The system runs with an open-source LLM locally or a hosted API.
