Problem Statement & Abstract
Food delivery has changed how Indian cities eat. This project analyses a public dataset of restaurants listed on delivery platforms across major Indian cities to uncover market patterns that a new restaurant or investor would want to know.
After cleaning ratings, prices for two, cuisines, locations and delivery times, the analysis answers questions such as: Which cuisines are most popular in each city? How does price relate to rating? Which neighbourhoods are over-crowded with restaurants and which are under-served? Do chains rate better than independent restaurants? How do delivery times vary across areas?
Text analysis of restaurant reviews finds the words most associated with high and low ratings. Interactive maps show restaurant density and average ratings by area, and a "gap finder" suggests cuisine and price combinations with high demand but few restaurants in a chosen locality. Everything is presented in a Streamlit dashboard backed by PostgreSQL.
