Splitting bills among friends and flatmates usually ends in confusion about who owes whom. This React Native app keeps shared expenses and personal budgets in one place and does the maths for you.
Users create groups for trips, flats or events and add expenses split equally, by exact amounts, by percentage or by shares. The app keeps running balances and its settle-up algorithm calculates the minimum number of payments needed to clear all debts, with a UPI payment link for each one. Receipts can be photographed and attached to an expense.
For personal finance, users set monthly budgets per category and see charts of spending by category and over time, with an alert when a budget reaches 80%. Recurring expenses such as rent are added automatically. A Node.js and Express REST API with MongoDB stores the data, uses JWT authentication and exports any group’s history as a PDF or CSV statement.
